Badme

Badme is a small Eritrean border town situated near the country’s border with Ethiopia. The town is the center of the border dispute between the two countries which both claim its ownership along the scantily defined Eritrea-Ethiopian border.

This resulted in the war between the two countries in 1998 and though peace prevails and negotiations are ongoing, Badme is still the center for tension between the two countries. The town experienced some of the heavies fighting during the war.
