Kibale National Park is located in the western region of Uganda near Fort Portal town covering an area of 776 sq km. Kibale is famously known for its large troops of primates remarkably 13 species, including the chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkey, Guereza Colobus, Olive Baboon, Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, and Red-tailed Monkeys among others. Attractions here in Kibaale national park are the high populations of Chimpanzee, making it the top tropical rain forest in East and Central Africa for where Chimpanzee trekking and habituations are done. Chimpanzees in Kibale forest live in troops of about 30-70 individuals made up of smaller, very flexible groups of just a few animals, perhaps all females. They use grass stems or twigs as tools, poking them into termite or ant nests and eating the insects that cling to them together with some plants in their surrounding. Chimps also eat other mammals such as the kobs, bush barks and others. They are able to wedge nuts between the roots of a tree and break the shells open with a stone.
